PD Auto’s team of experienced, qualified mechanics.
PD Auto vehicle repair workshop is owned and run by our lead mechanics Nick and Larry. They met when they both worked at another automotive repairs workshop, and decided to pool their resources to buy PD Auto from founder Paul Davies when he retired.
Together, the PD Auto team clock up close to 60 years’ combined experience in the automotive industry.
Nick
Co-owner Nick holds a National Certificate in Automotive Engineering, and completed his Motor Industry apprenticeship in 2007. He spends a lot of his spare time off-road driving (and fixing) his 4WD vehicle.
Larry
Larry has been in the motor industry for as long as he can remember – starting out as an auto electrician before switching to the mechanical side, and becoming an Industry Qualified Automotive Engineer.
Luka
Luka holds a New Zealand Certificate in Light Automotive Engineering. Since joining the PD Auto team, he has proven his value both on the workshop floor and on the phone chasing down parts for customers’ cars.

WoFs, vehicle checks: keeping you safe on the road.
Need a Warrant of Fitness or pre-purchase vehicle inspection? PD Auto are MTA approved providers for vehicle checks including WoFs and pre-holiday safety checks for trailers and caravans.
Servicing and maintenance for private and fleet vehicles.
Need a mechanic? We handle all your general vehicle repairs from vintage and classic car engines through to late model vehicles. We let you know exactly what’s needed so you’ll never be left wondering what you’ve paid for.
Brakes and clutch repairs.
Don’t wait until your brakes fail – if they squeak or shudder or your vehicle pulls to one side when you brake, this is a sign that something is wrong. We replace brake pads, repair drums, callipers and shoes as well as flush brake fluids and replace hoses. For manual vehicles, we also repair clutches and replace clutch cables as needed.
Battery charging, testing and replacement.
PD Autos is a licensed reseller for Century Batteries. If you haven’t driven a vehicle for a while or the engine is turning over slower than usual, bring it in and we will put it on our charger overnight and test it to see if it holds its charge. It might need replacing, or something simple like cleaning up the contact points.
